I had such a lovely evening with this family. The weather was gorgeous for their fall session, and now, sadly, winter is on our doorstep. Today we had snow, so it is hard to believe that just two weeks ago we were tromping through the woods.
Loved how comfortable they were in front of the camera, and isn't little dude awesome, adorable!
Enjoy your sneak peek guys!

Kayla & Cory
Kayla and Cory are such a cute couple and we had tons of fun taking their photos. I think these urban shots are totally them. Thanks for the fun evening and enjoy your images!

{K} Family
Our mild winter means that spring has sprung early here in northern Alberta. I know this seems late to some, but really, to have almost no snow on the ground at Easter time is a real treat for us!
For my first outdoor session of the year I was so happy to photograph the {K} family! Here's a little blog confession: I have long admired and respected P&C's parenting style and the family they have nurtured. They aren't pushovers but they have fun with their kids: water fights in the kitchen, chaperoning girls camp and leading a rousing game of Big Booty, family water skiing and tubing trips, etc. etc. It is obvious being with this gang that they genuinely enjoy each other -at least most of the time! :)
Thanks for having me photograph you, enjoy your sneak peek!

{C} Family
I had such a fun time hanging out with this little man and his mama on Saturday. He was so bright and chipper, probably one of the easiest three year olds I've ever photographed! Aren't they both just gorgeous! Dad is coming home from an overseas posting soon and I'm so happy that this family gets to be together again. In my former town there were many people in the military and my heart always goes out to those amazing families that spend so much time apart and sacrifice so much in defense of freedom and liberty. Thanks for having me photograph you, and enjoy your sneak peek Kenda!

KJ Wedding Family Photos
My friend Kjersti got married a few weeks ago in Canmore. Lots of family and friends meant that Kjersti and Jason got to have a second wedding reception this weekend to celebrate and fun was definitely the theme. Darrel and the kids came too, and Jack's eyes were literally as big as saucers when he saw the cotton candy machine.
Before y'all think I broke my "I don't do weddings rule" you have to know that I really just did the family photos, not the ceremony and reception photos. And Kjersti was the least bridezilla-ish bride ever, so I knew there would not be any tantrums, hahaha! Not to mention she is just a really good friend who means a lot to me. I am so impressed with her family, how they all helped her with the wedding details and making everything perfect for her. Lots of love going on there. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek KJ!
Also as a side note to clients: I'm going to get a lot more vigilant about sticking a big watermark on all the images I blog/facebook. This is to protect myself and you from someone else stealing the images and using them in an unauthorized way. I've heard many a horror story from other photographers about their images ending up in places they never imagined, and I really wouldn't want that to happen to either of us! Rest assured that your CD of photos will not have my name plastered all across you. ; )

{L} Family
I had such a great session with the {L} family on Saturday night -what an awesome family! There's a lot of really good images from our time together, and these are just a few, but the last photo here is definitely one of my favourites. Just look at the Mama love shining down on that little lady! When I take family photos I aim to have some more formal looking, posed portraits, (that perfect wall photo for the grandparents), but I also want to capture you just being you and all the love and joy in your family. I think those are the photos that in twenty years will really mean the most to you.
Thanks for the fun {L} family and enjoy your sneak peek!

{K} Family
Spring is finally here in northern Alberta! Hooray! After a very slow spring I'm so excited to be back outdoors for family photo sessions. It was gorgeous on Friday when the {K} family and I went to grandpa's farm to take their photos. The only downside to the whole evening were the swarms of the mosquitos, it was CRAZY! Despite nearly being eaten alive I think we captured some amazing images of their cute little family. I hope you enjoy your sneak peak guys, thanks for having me photograph you!

Sweetness
Little miss {A} came to visit on Thursday, such a dear! A girl with four older brothers, there's going to be no shortage of protection in that household!
She was not impressed with getting undressed and taken out of her Mama's arms, but we managed to get a few good shots. For all those baby photographers out there, wow, baby photography is hard work! I don't photograph babies very often, it's definitely not my specialty. Props to you guys. Thanks {J} for letting me practice on your sweet little girl! I hope you enjoy!

My Favourite Holiday
I so love Valentine's Day! And in honour of such a great holiday I'm hosting some mini portrait sessions. Bring your little sweethearts over for gorgeous "heart day" photos! Monday, January 31 evening appointments and Tuesday, February 1 daytime appointments are available. Space is limited, so call and book your time soon!
Hmmm, I did gear this add for childrens' portraits but as I sit here thinking about all the awesome couples I know, I don't think that's entirely fair! If you are like Darrel and I, we are rarely in a photo together as one of us is often behind the lens -and the ones we do have tend to be self-portraits, less than stellar. So, for all those lovebirds out there, this one is for you too! Same pricing for couples -get gussied up and come on over!

Christmasy Secrets
My fantastic friend {K} brought her stepkids in for photos as a surprise for their Dad. They were so awesome and fun to photograph! She said they haven't had photos recently, well, I think there was a little bit of America's Top Model waiting to shine on out of them. Don't they look great? Thanks for coming and hanging with me guys, it was fun!
